THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA.
NARRATOR: Once upon a time there was a prince who wanted to marry a princess; but she would have to be a real princess. He travelled all over the world to find one, but it was difficult to find out whether they were real ones.
One evening a terrible storm came on and the queen found a girl…
QUEEN: Who are you? What are you doing out in this terrible weather!
PRINCESS: I’m a princess. Please help me. I am all wet. Look at my clothes and hair!
PRINCE: All the girls I know say the same thing. Boring!!!
NARRATOR: The king took the princess inside the palace, while she kept saying that she was a real princess.
PRINCESS: I’m a real princess and I need your respect.
QUEEN: Well, we’ll soon find that out. I want the best for my little baby. My prince!!!
PRINCE: What are you thinking about, mummy?
QUEEN: I’m going to lay this pea here. And then, shall we put 100 of mattresses on it?
PRINCE: No mum, don’t be a bad woman…only twenty…
QUEEN: Only twenty???? Ok my dear son. Twenty.
PRINCE: And two quilts.
QUEEN: No my dear, twenty. No more any less.
(La princesa da vueltas en la cama)
PRINCESS: Ouch, ouch!! I’m in a pain. Pain here, pain here.
NARRATOR: The queen is here!!!!
QUEEN: How did you sleep, my dear princess?
PRINCESS: Oh, very badly! I haven’t closed my eyes all night. Heaven only knows what was in the bed, but I was lying on something hard, so that I am black and blue all over my body. It’s horrible!
NARRATOR: Now they knew that she was a real princess because she had felt the pea on the bed. Nobody but a real princess could be as sensitive as that.
PRINCE: Now I know that you are the real princess that I was looking for. Do you want to marry me? Pleaseeeeeeeeee.
PRINCESS: Yes, I want to marry you, kind prince!
NARRATOR: So as the prince knew the princess was real. His married her. The pea lives very happy in a museum.
PRINCE: I’m happy now.
PRINCESS: Ouch, I’m still in a pain.
TODAS: And they lived happy forever and ever.
